Welcome to the next event from the Health Talks series – health, life sciences and entrepreneurship talks organised by Aalto University, Health Design, Health Hub Tampere, Healthtech Finland, HiLIFE (University of Helsinki), Kuopio Health, OuluHealth, Terkko Health Hub.
This event is organized in cooperation with the Global Antibiotics Resistance Foundation (TGARF).
What:
The revolution of collecting digitalized health data created an increasing amount of data that can help to develop better healthcare and innovative solutions for patients and healthcare professionals.
Innovative companies are using new methods, with software (AI) and hardware, to collect and use this health data for developing solutions to curb antimicrobial resistance (AMR) or using the data for Patient Information systems.
In this session, we will discuss how some companies are using those new methods in relation to AMR. Furthermore we will discuss the effect of AMR in general.

Speakers:
Dr. Manuel Freire-Garabal MD. PhD. FRSM – is Professor of Pharmacology at the School of Medicine of the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC).
He had executive and advisory responsibilities in several companies and organizations dependent on the USC, European Union, United Nations, and the Spanish government. He is an expert in drug discovery and development and cutting-edge technologies applied to healthcare and medical education. Manuel has authored more than one hundred scientific articles and twenty books. He contributed to different media like Times Higher Education, Azad News, UC Berkeley and University of Harvard blogs. He is a fellow member of the Royal Society of Medicine. Manuel has received more than twenty awards, amongst them, the Sir Anthony Ritossa’s Global Family Office Investment Summit Lifetime Achievement Award, Grand Cross of the Royal Order of Banu Assaf, Golden Medal of the Compostela Group of Universities, Golden Medal of the Association of Former Students and Friends of the USC, and the Royal Academy of Medicine and Surgery of Galicia.
Dr. Susanna Esposito Prof. – Susanna is Full Professor of Pediatrics and expert in infectious diseases.
She is dedicated to scientific research in paediatrics, with interest in the development of new drugs and new vaccines. She is also the Director of Pediatric Clinic, Pietro Barilla Children’s Hospital, Director of Specialization School in Pediatrics of the Department of Medicine and Surgery, University of Parma Italy and President of the World Association for Infectious Diseases and Immunological Disorders (WAidid).
Nikhil Banerjee – is the founder and CEO of innate AI.
Innate is an AI-powered insight and knowledge creation platform for healthcare. Innate combines AI-driven social listening and knowledge extraction capabilities to generate patient insight reports for healthcare. These reports can be used to understand unmet needs, patient journeys, patient reported outcomes, etc. to develop better therapies, support tools and engagement strategies.
Sam Sihvonen – is the co-founder of Solu.
Solu makes genetic information about genotypic pathogen analysis accessible and helps to treat, track and prevent infections. Sam got the idea for Solu while studying at the medical school. He has studied medicine, computer science and business and ran multiple programs in the Finnish startup scene. Prior to Solu, Sam worked on clinical research in a digital mental health startup. Sam is a foodie, ultramarathoner and guitarist.
