Tommi Kaasalainen appointed as new CEO of Euformatics

Euformatics, a Finnish software company specialising in bioinformatics for genomic applications, has appointed Tommi Kaasalainen as its new CEO as of September 21st 2020. Olli Pasanen has stepped down from the position of CEO but will continue to play an integral role in the operation of the company as Chairman of the Board.

Tommi brings with him a wealth of experience and knowledge from his previous roles in both the health tech and IT sectors and will be responsible for building and driving a new growth strategy for the company.

In accepting the position of Euformatics CEO, Tommi brings his experience from a highly successful tenet as Executive Vice President at Innokas Medical, a Finnish medical device company where he was responsible for growing their 25M€ contract design and manufacturing business internationally. His most recent appointment was as CEO of Finnish health tech start-up Nukute, a Finnish medical device start-up focusing on sleep apnoea diagnostics.

Tommi holds a Master of Science degree in Industrial Engineering and Management from Tampere University of Technology from which he received an award for the best master's thesis work in Finland upon graduation. He also holds a second Master of Science degree with honours in the University of Tampere focusing on marketing and software development. Additionally, he has completed Aalto University´s Health Tech Executive program.
